Canal boat holidays in Cheshire: Weird and wonderful art at Tatton Park

People looking forward to canal boat holidays in Cheshire this summer have been invited to take part in a day out with a difference in one of the county's most famous stately homes.

The Tatton Park Biennial, which runs from May 8th until September this year, is described as a 'laboratory for creative experiment and exchange' and will feature 21 contemporary artists and their works.

From the world's biggest rocking horse and a collapsing tree house to a series of giant floating lily pads on the estate's lake, visitors to the exhibition will be sure to find plenty of the weird and the wonderful.

The event's website states: 'Working around the idea of Framing Identity, the programme will reveal artists' responses to the site and the intersections between contemporary art, culture, science and industry.'

Featuring a tower of garden sheds, a greenhouse full of artworks and a series of kinetic, solar-powered sculptures, the first Tatton Park Biennial was launched in 2008.ADNFCR-2853-ID-19725926-ADNFCR
