Canal boat holidays in Northamptonshire: Summer carnival gets a boost

Travellers planning canal boat holidays in Northamptonshire have been told that Northampton Carnival has been given a cash boost that should make this summer's event more exciting than ever.

The West Northamptonshire Development Corporation (WNDC) has given a £6,000 grant to the event, which takes place on June 12th.

It is believed that the money will help to provide a work-base or office from which the delivery of the carnival and other events in the town can be administered.

'Northampton Carnival is a colourful and exciting event which brings together the town in a fun-packed and entertaining way,' said Peter Mawson, chief executive of the WNDC.

'It has strong traditions dating back many years and aims to bring together all the communities within Northampton for an exciting day of celebration.'

This year's theme for the carnival is Myths and Legends of the World, which should provide ample opportunity for those on canal boat holidays in Northamptonshire to dress up and have a good time.ADNFCR-2853-ID-19715244-ADNFCR
