Canal boat holidays: Short breaks 'can be action-packed'

People in search of an eventful canal boat holiday may want to opt for several shorter adventures throughout the year, it has been suggested.

Peter Crane, head of product strategy at Explore, illustrated that long weekends can often give people the chance to pack lots of activities into a short space of time.

'They want to go to a place and get the most out of it in as little time as possible,' he explained.

Furthermore, Mr Crane claimed that one of the advantages is that people can make the most of a destination in the time they have, then move on to somewhere else if they so wish.

Dan Ariely, a behavioural economist Duke University in North Carolina, recently discovered that embarking on frequent short breaks is better for a person than one long holiday.

He found that people who use their holiday allowance in bursts are happier than those who use it all in one go.ADNFCR-2853-ID-800036211-ADNFCR
