Fortnight breaks 'most common canal boat holidays'

Travellers are increasingly deciding to take two week breaks when booking canal boat holidays, an expert has suggested.

John Warner, managing director of Gap Adventures, claimed that a fortnight is long enough to explore the area and have an action-packed time.

He said that this will give people the chance to explore areas of interest and the greatest sights available.

'It is best to move around so you can really get a feel for a place. It is also good to chat with the locals. Local guides are a fantastic source of information and help,' he stated.

Mr Warner suggested that the destinations people choose should be based on the type of trip that they are looking for.

Recent research by STA Travel found that Brits are increasingly prioritising activity breaks over other types of trip and are trying to take part in as many different things as possible during their canal boat holidays.ADNFCR-2853-ID-19576802-ADNFCR
