Peak district canal boat holidays: New sculpture exhibition launched

People on Peak district canal boat holidays will soon be able to make the most of a new and unique art exhibition.

Companion Stones is a display of text and stone sculptures that will be opened to the public on May 24th at 15:00 GMT.

The Duke of Devonshire will be on hand to open the attraction, which features work from 18 different poets and artists from the Peak District.

Charles Monkhouse, who devised and led the project, commented: 'Although the Companion Stones point to the future, they are also about present. They will tell people of the future of how we feel today.'

The exhibition will run until mid-July, giving those on Peak district canal boat holidays plenty of opportunity to marvel at the works of art.

It was recently revealed that a series of free cycling events were to be made available in the Peak District national park to get people interested in the great outdoors.ADNFCR-2853-ID-19782080-ADNFCR
