UK canal boat holidays 'come highly recommended'

People who enjoy UK canal boat holidays have known for a long time exactly what the country has to offer, but now everyone else is finally getting the message.

This is according to Paul Taylor, who told the Manchester Evening News that it is starting to dawn on holidaymakers that they do not have to travel overseas.

'I can't be the only person whose favourite places in the world are to be found here in the UK - Trebarwith Strand in Cornwall, Robin Hood's Bay and Staithes in North Yorkshire,' he commented.

With the Icelandic volcano ash cloud still causing problems, Mr Taylor predicts he will not be the only one staying on home soil to holiday this year.

Of those recently questioned by Visit England, he revealed that 86 per cent of people rated their UK holiday as either excellent or very good.
