Canal boat holidays in Wiltshire could be among the best and cheapest summer breaks for families this year, it has been claimed.

In a run down of the best hundred holidays, the Times has listed hiring a barge and travelling along the UK's waterways as one of the most enjoyable.

It suggested that canal boat holidays in Wiltshire can be among the best, pointing to the Kennet and Avon waterways as some of the nicest in the country

'Exactly 200 years have passed since the opening of Britain's prettiest canal  but you wouldn't know it from the scenery - much of it hasn't changed at all,' the newspaper stated.

Among the key draws for this canal is its aqueducts, the Caen Hill series of locks and the stunning Wiltshire countryside.
