Wiltshire canal boat holidays 'could offer unique learning opportunities'

People are increasingly choosing their holidays with an eye on the learning opportunities these present, an expert has claimed, which could see more people taking Wiltshire canal boat holidays.

Kate Kenward, executive director at the Association of Independent Tour Operators, says that the recession has changed the way that people are choosing their vacations forever.

She says that people often choose destinations that hold a higher value in terms of the experience they offer than luxurious and indulgent breaks abroad, which could lead to a rise of interest in Wiltshire canal boat holidays.

Ms Kenward says: 'People now want an extra vocational value with their time off, so any sort of holiday will have to have deeper learning opportunities for people.'

Those who are planning a canal boat holiday near Cheshire could experience the IllumiNESS flagship event at the Ness Botanic Gardens, which is using environmentally-friendly lights and generators to turn itself into a sparkling wonderland for a week and a half.ADNFCR-2853-ID-19488531-ADNFCR
